Joe: June 23, 2003:

why?

Why not?! Well there's usually more to it than just that, right? In this case "it" refers to working on a comic such as this one. It seems all to easy to get caught up in trying to pimp, advertise, plug and promote this work that it's easy to lose sight of why I wanted to do this in the first place. Sure, I have dreams of being able to do something like this for a living someday... but that's not the reason I started this work. The funny thing is, I can't really say exactly what the reasons for starting this are. Why does any writer or artist create?

It's great that there are people out there who enjoy the work, but that's not the only reason I do this. There's just something about seeing a creation from being a spark of inspiration to an actual finished physical tangible work. But in the hectic rushs that can suddenly appear in life, it's easy to lose sight of those reasons. It just took me a while before I remembered it.

Laura: June 23, 2003:

Weekly WebComic Feature

Since I won't be using my rantspace for a few weeks, I thought we should put something else in here each week, instead of one stale rant. So every week, we're going to feature a webcomic that we think is pretty spiffy and that you should most definitely check out.

So this week it's:

Never underestimate the power of a group of Otaku! Action, drama, comedy, tragedy... you'll find it all in this comic. Definately worth checking out if you haven't before.
