Joe: December 2, 2002:

"It was the best of times; it was the worst of times"

It's strange how things sometimes work out. Sorry about the update last week. I'll let Laura go into the gory details, but in a way, it gave us an excuse (totally unintentional) to take a break and hang out during the vacation. We went and saw "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and "Treasure Planet", both of which were awesome. Well, enough of the pleasantries, let's get down to business...

First of all, here are out plans for the rest of the year. Originaly, there was going to be a Thanksgiving special for this weeks update, but since we missed last week, the special was nixed and here is page 28. Pages 29 and 30 will be posted in the next couple of weeks. That will end Issue 1 and take us to Christmas. We are planning a Christmas special for that week. Then Laura is planning a 5 part end of Issue 1 Omake that will run the week of New Years (one per day). The First whole week of 2003 will start Issue 2. Well, that's the plan anyway.

Next, I was going to give some thanks for Thanksgiving. It's a little late, but I still want to do it. There have been a number of web comics besides FOG Club, and Bizarre Uprising that have linked to us recently and we'd like to return the favor. So, until some time can be conjured up to update the links page, many thanks goes out to Crimson Shadows, Random Sanity, Sea of Insanity, Overclocked and Spork Rivers (who's creator, Kelsey, sent us a nice feedback e-mail, so if you only visit one of these links, visit hers... if you visit 2 of these links, check out Sea of Indanity also because LKM posted to our forum... oh...and Overclocked has a really cool web page layout... but I can't figure out what the console does... ah go check 'em all out!).

Also, I want to remind people that we have changed servers. The preferred URL for everything (including e-mail) is bonsaimechafactory.org . Please do NOT use .DHS.org. It will be mirrored for a little while, but it will go away at some point. Please update your bookmarks and links. I hate moving... even virtually.

Okay, now that the business stuff is out of the way, it's time to have some fun. I LOVED "Treasure Planet". Something about ships and pirates has always interested me. Also, I'm usually not crazy about cat girls, but Captain Amelia Rocks! By far, she's my favorite character. There's just something about how the entire character comes together in the movie... and the animation was amazing (especially those eyes... and those ears)... ok... I'll stop gawking now.

Laura: Dececmber 2, 2002:

Ugh, what a week.

I must ask a thousand pardons for the missed update last week. It was my first one and it did not make me feel good. Just to recap, my scanner's lamp fizzled out on me last Sunday for the second time in the last year and I basically decided to cut my losses and by a new one. With the holidays approaching, and my personal health not fairing so well, we decided to let it slide for a week and omit the Thanksgiving special (which I'll try to make up later this month if I can). Anyway, the break's done me a bit of good. I needed it since I've been in a constant malaise for the past week and a half, and it was just nice to relax for Thanksgiving and hang out with Joe. We saw some movies and ate buffalo wings. I don't think there's that much else to do in South Jersey, but it was fun. I think Treasure Planet was the highlight of the week for me. I really enjoyed the visual style and the characters were fun.

I don't really have much to add to Joe's itinerary for the end of the year. We're winding down to the end of the first Issue which is a milestone for us, so we're excited. Hopefully, I'll also get my hot little hands on my very own Wacom tablet for Christmas, so it might mean that things will be able to pick up a little on my end.

Well that's all for now. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and loaded up on that stuff in turkey that makes you sleepy. And one more thing:

It's Kikkoman!
Yound children and people with heart conditions may want to avoid this...just a little disclaimer so like, nobody comes back and yells at me.
